The Alfieri Lab

at the Institute of Cancer Research, London (UK)

Research

Claudio Alfieri’s lab studies how macromolecular switches fine-tune the cell cycle and how they establish cell proliferation decisions.
To tackle this, we utilize an integrative structural biology approach involving biochemical reconstitution and analysis, cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM), cross-linking mass spectrometry (XL-MS), bioinformatics, cell and in situ structural biology, to dissect how the MuvB, and the anaphase-promoting complex (APC/C) pathways regulate cell cycle transitions and cell cycle entry/exit
